MAGMA®
Steam exhaust valves on steam peelers are very prone to excessive wear. The enormous quantities of steam, condensation, sand and peel residue combined with the large number of valve movements can make the valves' life relatively short. The durability and reliability of the valves largely determines a peeler's maintenance costs. Disruption to these valves is also a major cause of unplanned production stops in the potato- and vegetable processing industry.
In order to solve this problem, Kiremko, in cooperation with Idaho Steel Products has developed a new exhaust valve with a long operational life, the valve is called MAGMA®.
Construction
The MAGMA® is constructed as an exhaust valve in a 90 degree format with an enlarged discharge. The valve seat has a large outlet and is reversible to give a "double life". The valve plug is flat and mates "seamlessly" on to the seat. The valve is fitted with a fast acting actuator that guarantees a very fast opening time, which positively affects the peeling performance. All parts are made of wear-resistant materials or are fabricated with a specially hardened, wear-resistant layer. All wear parts are easy to remove, reorder and replace if the valve has to be reconditioned.
The MAGMA® has a CE mark and complies with PED rules. An ASME construction is available for North America.
The MAGMA® is available in four different designs.
